They were founded in 1888 in Oyonnax in the East of France, and they originally manufactured combs and hair accessories until 1936, when the company first started producing sunglasses
After World War II Bolle became a world leader in the manufacture of moulded nylon products and even then they were meeting and often exceeding the highest standards of the time, they first made the first pair of goggles and masks in 1950.
